6.1 How to build a
Nickname/Mailing List?
- To build a Mailing List, you need to click
to open the Address Book.
- Each Mailing List is represented by a Nickname in the Address Book. So, the next step is
to create a new Nickname. This can be done by clicking
in the Address Book dialog box.
- Enter the name of this new Mailing List. For example, name it 'joe_friends'.
- The Nickname of the new Mailing List is then created and is represented by the symbol
.
- On the right of the Address Book dialog box, select the 'Address(es)' page. Then, enter
the E-mail addresses of the Mailing List in an one-per-line fashion. Remember to use full
E-mail addresses instead of just the usernames if the address is out of City University.
- When finished entering the E-mail addresses of the Mailing List, click
to save and close the Address Book.
- To use a created Mailing List, simply enter its Nickname at the To: prompt of the
Message Composition Window instead of entering the list of addresses.
- Another quick way of using a created Mailing List is to open the Address Book, select
the desired Nickname and click
.
The Message Composition Window will be opened and the nickname will be placed at the To:
prompt automatically.
