How to check whether my email client is using
POP or IMAP configuration?
A. For MS Outlook Express users.
- Select "Accounts..." under the "Tools"
pull down menu.
- Select the tab "Mail" near the top.
- Select an account name corresponding to your staff mail inside the window
e.g.mail.cityu.edu.hk and click on "Properties" near the
right.
- Click on the "Servers" tab near the top.
- Locate the item "My incoming mail server is a ... server." (near the top) and
check whether it is POP or IMAP.

B. For Eudora users.
- Please select "Options..." under the "Tools"
pull down menu.
- From the "Options" window, select "Incoming Mail"
from the left.
- Locate the first item "Server configuration" (near the
top) and check whether the "POP" or "IMAP"
radio button is checked..
