Why can't I change password or "Login Failed" is displayed?

The problem may due to the following reasons:

1) The password is case-sensitive. i.e. "acbbb" is not equal to "ACBBB".  You should ensure that the key "Caps Lock" / "Shift" on keyboard has not been pressed unintentionally.

2) You may confuse with the following two types of password:

a) Your "Email Password".
b) Your password for "Citylink Plus/CityU WLAN/CityU VPN/Student Lan PC".

However, they are in fact different and can be changed separately. For details, please refer to here.

3) You may forget your password.

In case you forget your password, you can reset your Email Password by the following procedure:
a) For student: you must bring your student ID card and go to service counter (CSC) in person.
b) For alumni:  you can visit http://email.cityu.edu.hk and select the column "Alumni" and click "Change/Reset Password".

If You have both identities (alumni & student), you should  follow point
3a) only. Password of these two email accounts will always be the same, and the function of Change or Reset Password will take effect on both accounts.
