Is my
CityU Student Email Account still available after ending of my study?
NO. Your
CityU Student Email Account will expire and be disabled soon after your
study in the University is ended. Once your account is disabled, you will be
UNABLE to access it any more, and all
your email messages will be purged permanently. Therefore, you are strongly
recommended to save your important messages into your local computer, or
forward them to your specified email address before your study in CityU is
going to end.
If you continue your study in the University in
the next semester, your email account shall be automatically renewed upon
the start of the new study without interruption. Even though your account
will be extended, it is always our recommendation that you perform backup of
your email data on a regular basis.
It is also our recommendation that you perform backup of your email
data at all times and on a regular basis. Individual restoration of deleted
emails will normally NOT
be entertained."
If you are graduates, you may
automatically obtain a CityU Alumni email account on the alumni email server
(alumni.cityu.edu.hk) upon your
graduation. However, the messages stored in the mailbox of your student
email account will NOT be transferred to
your alumni account automatically. Therefore, if you want to
forward/transfer email messages to your alumni account, please do it YOURSELVES
before your student account is disabled. Please also note that, you may
NOT be able to transfer or forward ALL
your messages from student to alumni account because the mailbox
quota assigned for student email account is much more than that for alumni
email account.
